臭蟲屬昆蟲科, 半翅目, 臭蟲科(Hemiptera:Cimicidae), 又稱木虱, 床虱(Bedbug)

臭蟲的生態: 臭蟲可於一年內繁殖四至六代. 臭蟲發育過程分卵, 若蟲和成蟲三個時期

臭蟲的習性: 成蟲壽命一般可以活一年左右, 全年活動, 沒有冬眠期, 特們耐餓能力甚強, 一般可耐餓6至7個月, 甚至可長達一年, 若蟲無食可活150-160天之久, 但對低溫敏感, 在攝氏零度下各蟲體在14天內全部死亡.
